What Can We Expect From The New iPhone 5?

We are soon set for huge queues outside Apple stores worldwide thanks to the release of their long awaited iPhone 5. Demand for its predecessor was huge and we expect much of the same with this new model thanks to some specification that is rumored to make the handset the most advanced smartphone available. We take a look at some of the more realistic rumors doing the rounds about this model which is due for release very soon.
One area where we will see a big change on this new phone is in its design. Speculation on the internet suggests that the design of the phone will be a “total rethink” which suggests the model will be quite different from the iPhone 4. One suggestion is that the phone will return to the original curved back panel that was found on the earlier generation iPhones. Whichever route the developers choose there is no doubt that this model will be hugely desirable. The designers at Apple have a great history of producing phones that are pleasing on the eye so we should not expect anything less from this new model. One area which directly affects the design of the phone is the size of the display that the model must incorporate. It is anticipated that the iPhone 5 will feature a larger screen than previous models with some sources quoting that a 3.7 inch screen will be fitted whilst more recent reports suggest Apple may push the boat out a little further and feature a 4 inch display. The Galaxy range of phones from Samsung is set to welcome a newcomer in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Xcover. We have seen this range of phones expand at a rapid rate thanks mainly to the success of the original Galaxy S device. So far we have seen models for fitness fans, fans of smaller phones and the forthcoming new 3D version. This new model aims to take on the Motorola Defy as the ultimate rugged phone.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this new models durability is its resistance to water. The new Galaxy Xcover has the ability to withstand 30 seconds underwater at depths of up to one metre. Although this does not mean you are likely to take the phone swimming it will be great news to anybody who has dropped their handset into a bath or a sink. This is thanks to the body of the phone being completely airtight and this feature also helps to protect the model against other problems such as mud, dust and dirt. This is set to appeal to manual workers who want ruggedness but with many of the features boasted by the modern smartphone. The handset does offer some impressive specification but obviously the handset does not sport all of the features that are found on the top of the range Galaxy S2. The Xcover gives users a good quality screen that measures 3.65 inches and uses capacitive technology to ensure that the display responds from the slightest touch. The durability of the model is enhanced by the type of glass that is used in the construction of the screen which is four times tougher than regular glass helping the model to withstand scratches and keep in top condition for longer.
